Weight Loss Support Groups

Support group meetings occur the second Tuesday of every month from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. They usually occur at the community hospital at Dobbs Ferry, although occasionally the location may change. These are attended by Dr. Artuso and patients who are both pre-op and post-op. Occasionally guest speakers may be invited (i.e. plastic surgeon, exercise physiologist, nutritionist, and psychologist).

New: Mini-Psychiatric Support Group

New Image is now offering a monthly mini support group (6-10 persons) devoted to the psychology of destructive eating behaviors. The meeting will address eating disorders that continue after Gastric Bypass or Gastric Band Surgery and will be led by a psychologist specializing in eating disorders. This could be helpful to patients whose weight has stabilized after bariatric weight loss surgery before they have reached their target goal or patients who are experiencing a return to destructive eating habits with or without associated weight regain.
